Refund & Returns

1. Overview

GradedBazaar operates on an escrow-based model designed to protect both buyers and sellers. Payment is held safely until the buyer confirms delivery. This policy explains when refunds apply, how to request them, and the dispute process.

2. When Refunds Apply

Full refund (100%):

  • Item not received: Tracking shows no delivery after 21 days from dispatch
  • Counterfeit slab: Independent verification confirms the slab or cert is fake
  • Cert mismatch: The cert number, grade, or card delivered differs from the listing
  • Seller cancellation: Seller cancels after payment but before shipment

Partial refund (case-by-case, 10–80%):

  • Minor damage in transit: Slab is intact but case is scratched or scuffed
  • Misdescription: Listing description had inaccuracies (e.g. wrong year, missing condition note)

No refund:

  • Buyer's remorse after confirming delivery
  • Card value decreases due to market fluctuations
  • Buyer damages the slab after receipt
  • Dispute raised after the 72-hour delivery confirmation window
  • Cards from completed auctions where buyer changes their mind

3. How to Request a Refund

  1. Receive the card and inspect it within 72 hours
  2. If there is an issue, go to your order page and click “Open a dispute”
  3. Select dispute category and upload photos showing the issue
  4. The order status changes to “Disputed” and escrow is frozen
  5. The seller has 5 days to respond
  6. If unresolved, GradedBazaar admin reviews and decides within 7 days

4. Dispute Categories

  • Item not received — tracking did not show delivery
  • Cert mismatch — the cert number, grader, or grade differs from listing
  • Damaged in transit — slab cracked, case broken, label torn
  • Counterfeit slab — suspected fake grading or tampered slab
  • Other — describe in detail

5. Refund Method and Timeline

Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method (UPI, card, net banking) within 5–7 business days. The actual receipt of funds depends on your bank and may take an additional 2–3 days.

  • UPI: 1–2 business days
  • Debit/Credit card: 5–7 business days
  • Net banking: 3–5 business days

On a full refund, the platform fee (8%) is also returned. For partial refunds, the platform fee is prorated.

6. Auto-Release After 7 Days

If the buyer does not confirm delivery within 7 days of the shipping update, funds are automatically released to the seller. The buyer can still raise a dispute within 72 hours of auto-release if a genuine issue is discovered.

7. Seller-Initiated Cancellations

Sellers may cancel an order BEFORE shipment for legitimate reasons (out of stock, damaged inventory, etc.). The buyer receives a full refund within 3 business days. Sellers who cancel more than 5 orders in a 30-day period may face account suspension.

8. Returns

Once delivery is confirmed and the dispute window (72 hours) has passed, returns are NOT accepted. Graded card sales are final after the dispute window. This policy mirrors industry standards on eBay, Goldin, and Fanatics Collect.

9. Buyer Protection Limit

Each order is protected up to the full transaction amount. There is no monetary cap on legitimate disputes. However, GradedBazaar reserves the right to suspend accounts that file repeated frivolous disputes.

10. Shipping Costs

On a successful dispute (counterfeit, cert mismatch, item not received), the seller bears the return shipping cost or, if no return is required, the original shipping is refunded to the buyer. On rejected disputes, the buyer bears any return shipping if they choose to return.

11. Chargebacks

If a buyer files a chargeback with their bank instead of using our dispute system, we will:

  • Cooperate with the bank's investigation
  • Provide evidence (tracking, photos, signed confirmation, listing details)
  • Hold the disputed amount from the seller's balance pending resolution

Sellers who win chargebacks receive the full amount. Sellers who lose chargebacks are debited plus a Rs 500 chargeback handling fee.
